Before the release of Downfall - A Horror Adventure Game on June 16, 2009 which officiliazed the Harvester Games name and was R. Michalski's first commercial release, he was experimenting with AGS for years before then, even since he was a kid, simply making games for fun. Fortunately for us, he released the first "finished" (relatively speaking) game he ever made on May 28, 2010 - eleven months after the release of the original Downfall - as freeware with the caveat that it's messy and not exactly the most polished experience.

If you've played every game - or at least most - made by Harvester Games, however, I'd imagine it might be at least interesting to give this little shard of Harvester Games history at least a few minutes of your time. You'll probably enjoy it at least a little bit if you like Nirvana, Fool's Garden, Raemonn, and Coldplay, who are featured in the game.

I should stress that this thing really is unpolished, and as janky and odd and messy as the original Downfall was that at least felt like a more complete experience. So please don't go into this with any expectations, this isn't a Harvester Games release (the Harvester Games name wasn't even a thought in his mind when he made this!) and I wouldn't even call this a R. Michalski release, this is just a small little adventure prototype that came out of the mind of a young man in an odd time in his life.

I would love to see this small little shard get a bit more attention.

A month ago I found the original version on a dusty CD tucked away in the darkest drawer.... and I thought I'd try to make it into something half-decent. It's possible that I failed.... (:P) But anyway, it will always be a special game for me. Made at that strange time of my life when changes were coming, it was my way of saying goodbye to the life I was leaving behind.
